Rise 2 Work
Rise2Work is available in the College and Career Readiness Department at Central Piedmont. It is a Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services and North Carolina Division of Health and Human Services program. Rise2Work aims to connect low-income residents with the education and training opportunities they need to secure a better-paying job or family-sustaining career.
Rise 2 Work is a grant-funded program available to individuals enrolled in Mecklenburg County Food & Nutrition Services Employment and Training Program who want to increase their skills, earn new credentials, boost their career possibilities, and contribute to their family's financial well-being. To be eligible, residents must qualify to receive Food and Nutrition Services SNAP assistance (formerly known as EBT or Food Stamps) and be willing and able to work.
Through Rise2Work, you can receive:
- scholarships to college
- training and certifications for in-demand jobs
- advising and career coaching
- Education Navigator assistance to help you plan your career path
- support services and transportation assistance
