Topics include process control devices and process control applications associated with industrial instrumentation. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of the various industrial process control and instrumentation systems.

Topics include remote I/O systems, PC-based data acquisition, real-time monitoring, and other related topics. This course is a survey of SCADA systems found in the industrial setting. Topics include single and/or multiple machine operator interfaces utilizing hardware and software systems running SCADA or HMI software for system monitoring and control. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the utilization and implementation of custom and commercial SCADA or HMI software.

The course is a survey of various programmable systems used in industry. Topics include PLC systems, PAC systems, DCS systems, and embedded systems and other types of control systems implementation.
